WE DID IT!       WILLIAMS HOUSE OPEN WEEKENDS

One of the major goals of the fledgling WHS since 2000 was to be in a position to open our museum/house to the public on a regular schedule in the summer.  We thought we were there last summer but delays on completion of the sidewalks and steps made the entrance to the building too hazardous and caution prevailed.

The Facilities Committee and the Collections Committee are gearing up for the openings.  Much work has been done by the Collections Committee (Don Coutts, chair, Nancy Gumble, Bea Martin, Jean Hansen, Shirley Coutts,Bruce Worrell until his death in October).  The collections have been updated and catalogued.  This committee services the Williams House, the Palmyra Twp Building and the PPL'S

WELC where collections are on display.

The Facilities Committee which is in need of expanding its personnel beyond Audrey  Graybill, chair and UP  Bob Graybill, Barbara and Don Nuss will be preparing the building for the public.

Volunteers who are willing to host the openings on Saturday and Sunday between 1 :00 and 4:00 from Memorial Day weekend until Labor Day  weekend are asked to let Audrey (226-3663) know the date (s) they  are available.  There will always be two volunteers in the house.

Volunteers will receive information and answers to potential questions.
