Strategic Planning

In order to prepare for the future, the Society is in the process of writing a strategic plan.  The process involves examining the mission (as displayed on our home page), deciding on where we want to go as a Society (a vision), and then drafting a series of steps (strategies and tactics) to move toward that vision.  As the process continues, we will update this page.

Wallenpaupack Historical Society Vision

By 2010, the Society will have the Williams House and an authentic barn open as a museum for two to three hours per week, staffed by volunteers.  At that site, the Society will have expanded research facilities, a genealogy center, a collection of artifacts, and demonstrations and special events.

By 2006, the Society will be an active advocate for the preservation, restoration and adaptive re-use of the Paupack School.

The Society operates the following programs:

            - An awards banquet

            - Local history education

            - A website

            - Publishing of local history

            - A partnership with the local schools.

By 2009 the Society will have a comprehensive plan addressing the storage and display of artifacts in the Lake Wallenpaupack area, the Environmental Learning Center, and the Palmyra Township Building in addition to the Williams House.
