Could You Have Taught School in 1844?

This book consists of three parts. The first part is a the complete list of questions used by the School District of Philadelphia in competitive examinations for teacher candidates in 1844. The second part is the list of questions used for the competitive examination for the Professorship of Ancient Languages in the Central High School of Philadelphia, als in 1844. These questions were published in the Common School Journal, a publication of the Superintendent of the Common Schools, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The third part of the book contains answers to the questions contained in the first part.
